Trade calculator questions
- How is trade Stardust calculated?
- Friendship level, whether the species is already in the other trainer's dex, and special vs regular (shiny, legendary, purified, ultra beast, costume, Dynamax/GMAX). Each trainer pays for the mon they receive. Event discounts apply after, floor 100 Stardust.
- What is a special trade?
- Shinies, legendaries, purified, ultra beasts, many costumes/forms, and Dynamax/GMAX. Usually one special trade per day (more on Friendship Friday). If the base form is registered, GMAX uses the lower registered special rate.
- Do original IVs matter when trading?
- No. IVs re-roll after the trade. Floor follows friendship, or 12/12/12 if Lucky. Old stats don't stick.
- How does Lucky chance work here?
- Lucky Friends or a guaranteed old-mon slot is 100%. Otherwise chance rises with both mons' ages, up to 20% for older pairs. Friendship Friday boosts that further for in-person trades.
- Can I trade Mythical Pokémon?
- Almost never. This tool blocks mythicals except Meltan and Melmetal.
- What is Friendship Friday?
- Friday local time (midnight to 11:59 p.m.), in-person only. Expect cheaper Stardust (~50% here), more special trades (often 2 or 3), better Lucky odds, and guaranteed Candy XL at level 31+. Remote gets none of that. The page can turn FF on when your clock says Friday; you can still toggle it for planning.
